Head to head
Hoperfy vs Eventbrite: a comparison for event organisers
Hoperfy is the better fit if you run a conference, festival or tournament where attendees also need hotel rooms, and an all-in ticket cost of 2.6% to 5.4% comes in under your country’s Eventbrite rate, with revenue paid out as tickets sell.
Key takeaways
- Eventbrite charges United Kingdom organisers an all-in 6.95% plus £0.59 per paid ticket, payment processing included, as of October 2026.
- Hoperfy costs 2.6% to 5.4% all in per paid ticket: a 2.5% platform fee plus payment processing charged separately by Stripe.
- Eventbrite sends the final event payout three business days after the event ends and holds 20% of net sales in reserve until then.
- Hoperfy includes free white-label hotel booking across 2,000,000 properties, a product category absent from Eventbrite’s published organiser feature list.

Eventbrite is the better fit if you need a public ticket marketplace and self-service setup for a one-off paid event, and Hoperfy is the better fit if you run a conference, festival or tournament where attendees also need hotel rooms and you want a lower flat ticket fee with revenue paid out as tickets sell. This page compares the two on fees, payout timing, branding, setup and attendee accommodation, using figures published on each company’s own pages in October 2026.
Hoperfy is our product. We have tried to keep this comparison fair, and we say where the alternative is the better fit.
What is the difference between Hoperfy and Eventbrite?
Eventbrite is a ticketing and discovery platform. Organisers publish an event, sell paid or free tickets, and the event appears on a marketplace that Eventbrite reports reaches 89 million monthly users across 4.7 million events.
Hoperfy is an event commerce platform with two products: multi-channel event ticketing and free white-label event housing for conference and festival organisers. Hoperfy has no consumer marketplace. Tickets are sold from your own site and partner channels, and your event gets a branded hotel booking page alongside it.
The practical difference is scope. Eventbrite sells tickets and brings an audience. Hoperfy sells tickets and also handles where your attendees sleep.
How do Hoperfy and Eventbrite ticketing fees compare in Europe?
Hoperfy charges one flat platform fee that does not vary by country: 2.5% per paid ticket, or 2% when ticketing and hotel booking run together as the Full Suite. Payment processing is not included: Stripe or your own connected gateway charges it separately, between 0.1% and 2.9% depending on country, card type and provider. The all-in cost is therefore 2.6% to 5.4% per paid ticket, or 2.1% to 4.9% on the Full Suite. Free events carry no platform fee.
Eventbrite’s Ticketing Fee varies by payout country, and by default it is paid by the ticket buyer rather than by you. Organisers can choose to absorb it instead. In the United Kingdom and Ireland the published service fee is the entire Ticketing Fee, because no separate payment processing fee applies, so it is already an all-in number. Free events carry no Ticketing Fee.
These are the service fees Eventbrite publishes for European payout countries as of 26 October 2026. Where two figures appear, the first is the Essentials legacy package and the second is Professional.
- United Kingdom: 6.95% plus £0.59 per sold ticket, all in, with payment processing included
- Ireland: 5.9% plus €0.79 per sold ticket, all in, with payment processing included
- Germany: 5.5%, or 5.5% plus €0.99 per sold ticket
- Spain: 6%, or 9% plus €0.19 per sold ticket
- France, Italy, Portugal, Finland and Greece: 3.5% plus €0.49, or 5.5% plus €0.99 per sold ticket
- Belgium: 3% plus €0.49, or 4% plus €0.99 per sold ticket
- Sweden: 3.99%, or 5.99% per sold ticket
- Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Switzerland: 1% plus a small fixed amount, or 2.5% plus a small fixed amount, in local currency
Eventbrite states that its current pricing plans are available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and that other countries use legacy packages. Fees for several European markets, including the Baltic states, are not publicly listed on that page.
What does that mean on a real ticket price?
Take 1,000 tickets at £50 with a United Kingdom payout account. Eventbrite’s published service fee of 6.95% plus £0.59 comes to £4.07 per ticket all in, payment processing included, or £4,065 in total, charged to buyers unless you absorb it. Hoperfy’s 2.5% comes to £1.25 per ticket, and because processing is charged separately you add £0.05 to £1.45 at the published 0.1% to 2.9% range, giving an all-in £1.30 to £2.70 per ticket, or £1,300 to £2,700 in total. On the Full Suite rate of 2% the platform share drops to £1.00 per ticket before processing.
Compare the all-in number for your own payout country before you switch. The gap narrows in markets where Eventbrite’s legacy service fee starts at 3% or 3.5%, and in those countries Eventbrite does not publish a separate payment processing fee, so confirm with each provider what the quoted percentage covers.
When do you get paid with each platform?
Eventbrite sends the final event payout three business days after the event ends. Organisers who have already hosted a paid event can set a weekly or twice-monthly schedule to receive funds earlier, and Eventbrite holds 20% of net sales in reserve against refunds and chargebacks until the event finishes. Eventbrite also lists Instant Payouts as a feature for eligible organisers.
Hoperfy states that revenue settles to your connected account as sales happen, with no settlement window and no payout request, and that you can connect your own payment provider and keep your negotiated processing rate.
If your event has large supplier deposits due before the doors open, ask both providers in writing what you qualify for, because eligibility rules on early payouts are account specific.
Which platform handles attendee hotel booking?
Hoperfy does and Eventbrite does not. Accommodation, room blocks and housing do not appear anywhere on Eventbrite’s organiser feature list, which covers ticketing, promotion, reporting, payments, integrations and AI tools.
Hoperfy’s event housing product gives your event a white-label booking page across more than 2,000,000 hotel properties, with real-time room block tracking, automated rooming list exports and group bookings. Hoperfy contracts the hotels, handles delegate questions, cancellations and refunds, and charges the organiser nothing. Organisers keep 30% of hotel booking profits, or 50% on the Full Suite. Full fee details sit on the Hoperfy pricing page.
For sports events, the same housing runs across multiple properties and teams under tournament housing, which is where the rooming list exports matter most.
When is Eventbrite the better choice?
There are several cases where Eventbrite is the stronger option, and they are not edge cases.
- You need discovery, not just checkout. Eventbrite’s marketplace reach of 89 million monthly users is a sales channel in itself. Hoperfy has no marketplace, so every ticket must come from your own audience, your site or your partners.
- You sell to the general public and want buyers to carry the fee. Eventbrite’s Ticketing Fee is passed to ticket buyers by default, so the headline percentage does not come out of your revenue unless you choose to absorb it.
- Your event is small. Hoperfy states it works best for events with 200 or more attendees. Eventbrite has no minimum and self-service signup is immediate.
- You need reserved seating or timed entry. Eventbrite publishes both as features, along with Tap to Pay, a Zoom integration and an app marketplace. Hoperfy does not list reserved seating.
- You want marketing tools in the same account. Eventbrite includes email campaigns, Facebook and Instagram ad tools, promo codes and Eventbrite Ads, with the Pro email tier starting at $15 per month in the United States and £12 per month in the United Kingdom.
- You want one number to budget against. In the United Kingdom and Ireland the Eventbrite figure is all in, while a Hoperfy quote has a processing rate that depends on your gateway and card mix.
When is Hoperfy the better choice?
Hoperfy fits organisers whose attendees travel. If several hundred people need rooms, that accommodation spend already exists and currently goes to third-party booking sites. Hoperfy is also the stronger option when the all-in cost of 2.6% to 5.4%, platform fee plus processing, is lower than your country’s Eventbrite Ticketing Fee, when you want the checkout to stay on your own brand and domain, and when you would rather someone else answered the hotel emails. Hoperfy sets the whole thing up for you, which suits teams with no spare operations capacity, and there are no lock-in contracts.
The honest limitation is the same one listed above. Hoperfy brings no audience of its own.
Which should you choose?
Pick Eventbrite for public, ticket-led events where discovery and self-service matter more than fee percentage or accommodation. Pick Hoperfy for multi-day conferences, festivals and tournaments where attendees need hotels, where you want your own branding on checkout, and where the all-in cost, platform fee plus processing, beats your local Eventbrite Ticketing Fee.
If you are weighing cost at the smaller end, our guide to affordable event ticketing software for small events walks through the same maths for events under a few hundred attendees.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hoperfy an Eventbrite alternative?
For organisers who sell tickets to their own audience, yes. Hoperfy covers ticket sales, payouts and attendee data, and adds free hotel booking. It does not replace Eventbrite’s public marketplace, so it suits events that already have an audience.
Is Eventbrite cheaper than Hoperfy?
It depends on your payout country and who pays. In the United Kingdom Eventbrite’s all-in Ticketing Fee is 6.95% plus £0.59 with processing included, against 2.6% to 5.4% all in on Hoperfy once separate processing is added. Eventbrite’s fee is charged to ticket buyers by default, so compare both the all-in figure and who carries it.
Does Eventbrite offer hotel room blocks for attendees?
No. Accommodation and room blocks do not appear on Eventbrite’s organiser feature list, which covers ticketing, promotion, reporting, payments and integrations. Attendee housing has to be arranged separately.
When does Eventbrite pay out ticket revenue?
Eventbrite sends the final payout three business days after the event ends. Organisers who have run a paid event before can set up weekly or twice-monthly payouts in advance, and 20% of net sales is held in reserve until the event finishes.
Can I use Hoperfy for hotels only and keep Eventbrite for tickets?
Yes. Hoperfy’s hotel booking is free to set up and runs independently of where you sell tickets. The 2% ticketing rate applies only when both products run together.
Does either platform charge for free events?
Neither does. Eventbrite applies no Ticketing Fee to free tickets, and Hoperfy applies no platform fee to free events.
